• PROJECT "SUNRISE"

• Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare J.P. Nadda launched the project Sunrise in Imphal, Manipur to improve interventions against Human Immunodeficiency Virus, HIV and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, AIDS among People Who Inject Drugs (PWID) in 8 North-Eastern States.
• It is a 5 year programme aimed at complementing the ongoing National AIDS Control Programme, NACP.
• It will be implemented in 20 districts of North-Eastern States at an estimated cost of Rs. 70 Crore. 
• It will cover One lakh people living with HIV/AIDS by giving them treatment and care facilities free of cost.

• Remark:-
• North Eastern States like Manipur, Nagaland and Mizoram account for highest adult (15-49 years) HIV prevalence in the country. 
• National average for prevalence of HIV/AIDS among drug addicts is 7.14%, whereas in Manipur it is 12.9% and in Mizoram it is 12%.







"SAHAJ" SCHEME


• On January 25, 2016, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas launched Sahaj Scheme for online booking of LPG cylinders through the unified web portal www.mylpg.in which is available in 13 languages.
• Govt. targeted to add 10 crore new LPG connections by December 2018 to the existing 16.5 crore connections.
• The new connections will be provided on an EMI basis which cost up yo 3400 rupees. This amount can be spread over 24 installments.
• SAHAJ facility will enable the customers to post online request for a new connection by filing Know Your Customer (KYC) form by uploading bank account details and photograph.

Go China Go..

Right now in our country, some groups of people are trying to start a nationwide movement of banning Chinese products on social media. They are portraying this social media movement as a symbol of nationalism and patriotism. Some of our leaders and so-called political persons are also supporting them. According to them by not purchasing daily use Chinese products, We can hamper their Trillion dollar economy. They believe in that China is using our money to support Pakistan and try to indulge India in a proxy war. We must accept the fact that China is not the only country that supports Pakistan and further they support them for their economic expansion rather than promoting terror. Recent steps were taken by China like taking VETO against Masood Azhar, stopping water of a tributary of Brahmaputra River, opposing India’s bid for UNSC etc. reinforced thoughts of these radical groups. However, we accept that China is our major partner not only in trade but also in International relations. We are working together on various platform like BRICS, ADB, UN etc.
Now moving towards trade relation between these countries. Every year China export more than $60bn goods and services while India export only $11bn goods. Basically, we have more than $50bn trade deficit. These figures can easily explain that which country is on dominating side. We basically exported raw material and they return us processed goods. Now question arises-why we need to export raw material? Can we not manufacture goods here? And the answer is that in present condition, our industries are not capable of producing goods of the same quality at a cheaper rate than China does.
If we stop to purchase Chinese products, we will have to compromise with price or quality or both of them. In my opinion, for a daily wage worker who earns 150 rupees daily, buying a 15 rupee Chinese torch is a better option than purchasing 150 rupees made in India torch. So accept the fact that our India Industries are not at par their Chinese rivals so first, we need to focus on improving ourselves rather than opposing Chinese products. For China, India contributes only fraction of their total trade while for India, China contributes approx 20% of total trade (Largest trade partner of India). So by banning them or not using their products, we will hamper our economy more than their economy like a famous proverb- Digging our own grave (अपने पैरों पर कुल्हाड़ी मारना). At the end I can say only that extremism is never good, be it of any side. I am not totally against this campaign as it has some positive aspect too. Like in case of decorative items for festivals like Diwali, Holi etc, we can buy locally producing items along with these Chinese LEDs. By this,  we can give a little sum of money to native people and appreciate their skills. It will definitely boost their morale and they will tend to produce more quality products in near future. In my opinion, the motto of this campaign should be " A step towards economic sovereignty" rather than "Anti- China". 
I want to request you all who support these groups that rather than starting a revolution against Chinese products, start a revolution for better education policy, better skill development programs, better labor laws and land reforms.
Use products which have better quality-cost ratio rather than seeing tag- Made in India.
